Custom Lawn Services in Madison, WI
A variety of conditions can cause your lawn to develop thin, brown, or dead areas. The good news, all is not lost! In fact, it doesn’t take too much work to help your lawn recover and get back to a lush, thick, green ground cover. We offer a few specific treatments, which can be applied independently or in combination to improve the health, appearance and feel of your grass.
Grass Overseeding
This process will run a power slit seeder over your lawn. This specialized, purpose-built machine slices slits in your turf and pushes grass seed into it, planting it into your soil to prevent it from washing away and improve germination rates. This process works wonders for areas of thin grass in your yard.
Turf Aeration
We will use a core aerating machine to remove soil plugs from your yard. Aeration reduces soil compaction and encourages grass roots to spread and strengthen.
Grass De-Thatching
Thatch is the buildup of dead material at the base of your grass. A little thatch is no problem, and even good for your lawn as it provides some protection for the grass roots and underlying soil. As thatch grows thick, however, it can block nutrients from getting to the grass roots. De-thatching removes some healthy grass and can slightly damage your lawn temporarily. It best to de-thatch in spring or during the heavy growing early season, when your lawn will recover quickly.
