Hands-On Construction in Outdoor Commercial & Residential Environments
Landscape construction and renovation encompasses a wide range of projects, including:
Decorative stone and mulch
New lawn installation
New planting beds to include mulch and various edging products
Grading to improve drainage
Rain gardens
Acer Landscaping has a focus on quality hardscape projects and we offer paid training and certification opportunities within that niche.
A hardscape installer builds concrete or stone segmental pavements and retaining walls to complement the landscape on residential and commercial properties. These career professionals install patios, walkways, steps, and driveways to add beauty, utility, function and value. This career requires physical fitness, intelligence, patience, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. A hardscape installation career is for those who love to create outdoor environments, receive satisfaction from building a project from start to finish, and enjoy working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Job Requirements
CREW MEMBER
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Responsible, dependable, strong integrity, quality-focused
Solid time management skills
Some landscape experience is preferred, but we can train motivated individuals
Able to follow directions
Notice and attend to small details
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repeatedly
Familiar with common landscape equipment and tools
Able to learn new equipment quickly & safely
Ability to work alone or as part of a multi-person crew
Able to work in a variety of weather and social conditions
Excellent stamina is required in our fast-paced environment
FOREMAN
(additional requirements)
Foreman requirements include all Crew Member requirements, plus the following:
Foreman candidates should have several years experience running projects and crews
Experienced with site layout, measuring, prep, organization
Extremely detail oriented
Understanding of grades, slopes, measurements
Understanding of job plans and blueprints
Knowledge of common landscape plants, materials, tools
Experienced operators of heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, saws, loaders, compactors, etc.
Able to train new crew members as needed
Able to complete extensive paperwork and job reports thoroughly and in detail
Hardscape foreman should understand base materials, compaction, geotextiles, drainage, cutting, measuring, slopes, etc.
Industry certifications and licenses are valued (ICPI, NCMA, SRW, Pesticide license) but not required
